Dear Ivy, Peace to you in Christ Jesus!
Jesus says in Revelation 3:8, “I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.” This verse has profound meaning and significant impact to my life.
On the morning of December 17, 2009, Lord Jesus comforted my fearful heart with this scripture to help me overcome my fears and dare to answer His call that came five days before. It was during my morning devotion on December 12 that I heard the Lord say to me, “Susan, you are to keep making multimedia Bible study sets.” Upon hearing it, I was speechless and filled with fear. A week later, when I was meditating the scriptures in my daily devotion, a gentle whisper from the Holy Spirit rose from my heart and asked me: “Susan, do you love Me?” I was shocked and didn’t know how to respond to God. Then He whispered to me again, “Susan, do you love Me?” He continued, “I heard you loud and clear when you worshipped Me. You gave all of yourself and said to Me that every breath belongs to Me, every step is for Me…So do you really love Me?”
As soon as the Holy Spirit asked me the third time, “Do you love Me?”, I felt completely ashamed. What I thought to be a genuine love for the Lord was tested when His call came to me. I could not accept God’s call because of the fear of man. So I brought myself to the Lord in tears and shame, asking for His forgiveness. I humbly confessed, “Lord, You know that I love You. Help me love You more. Since this ministry is of and from You, I will obey and do it willingly, but I have little strength!”
Little did I know that Jesus would use the Scripture reading from my morning devotion the next day to speak to me. Not only did He know that I have “little strength,” He also knew that I love Him and want to love Him more. He knew how determined I was to keep His words and not deny His name. As a result, He would open a door before me that no one can shut (Rev. 3:8 paraphrased).
Thus, following Jesus’ call and His leading, Spring of Water International Ministries was established! Over the last ten years, S.O.W. has faithfully produced 8 multimedia Bible study sets. Although the production cost for every set is about USD $250,000, the Lord has shown His vision for S.O.W. to many and led them to partner with us through giving. In addition, mission organizations and churches in over 36 countries have used our multimedia Bible study guides and matching videos on the books of Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 Samuel, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, and Job. Believers all over the world have utilized these resources to win souls for God, bless churches, foster discipleship and deepen their spiritual lives.
At SOW’s 10th Year Anniversary Thanksgiving Dinner, we will be introducing our latest Bible study sets on the books of 2 Samuel and Psalms, as well as our mission works in Taiwan and in Egypt. I sincerely invite you to join us this year at our Thanksgiving Fundraising Dinner with SOW’s staff and volunteers. Our hope in this kingdom partnership is that all of us will use the gifts God’s given us and walk alongside one another to preach God’s words and the good news to the ends of the earth, that people in this world can taste of the true bread of life and drink of the living water through knowing Jesus.
May our glorious Lord Jesus accomplish everything according to His great power and good pleasures, so as to give seeds to the sower and bread to the eater!
